Comic-Con Scotland: Aberdeen 2022 Updates!

*

In August of this year we brought you news that Monopoly Events is to bring Comic Con to P&J Live’s Baker Hughes Exhibition & Conference Hub on 12-13 March, 2022. That’s correct, Comic Con is coming to Aberdeen.

*

Now I know what my fellow Aberdeenshire people are thinking, that the good people at Granite City Comic Con have already been doing their fair share of excellent geeky work with their annual events over the past few years. If it wasn’t for the break due to that certain little worldwide pandemic those events would have been continuing that great work. The great news is that GCCC has its own identity and ethos, a new team together and they’re raring to go in the not too distant future. Of course, we at 5D will be holding desperately onto the coattails of these creative individuals to try and be involved again in that. We’ve been honoured to have played our own very small part in the events since their inception – going as far as even recording a live episode of the 5D Podcast at their last pre-Covid event.

*

So besides the excellent news that in addition to the work of GCCC, we now know there’s going to be another major geek event soon to be residing in the North East of Scotland when Comic-Con Scotland comes to town! So after the initial excitement of the announcement for the planned event it’s good to hear that now we’re beginning to get some information about the potential format and line-up of the March event.
