EP. 113 – 5D Podcast: Da 5 Bloods, The Last of us: Part 2 & some 5DNEWS.

We are delighted to announce that this episode of the 5D podcast was brought to you by author J.R. Jordan. The new and revised edition of his book, Robert Wise: The Motion Pictures, is now available. It can be purchased online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other Internet-based booksellers.

If you want to know more about this excellent book about Robert Wise, the enigma of a huge and successful body of work but never considered as one of the classic ‘auteur’ directors, there is an honest article from yours truly here on the website. Either check it out on the Reviews section or simply find it here at the direct link http://5d-blog.com/robert-wise-the-motion-pictures-a-book-by-j-r-jordan/

This week Stuart and Zack talked about catching up with Spike Lee’s latest movie, Da 5 Bloods, which recently debuted on Netflix. Interestingly, one of us loved it and the other a little less so……..We’ll leave it up to you to find out which one of us may have to eat some humble pie if we ever talk to any of the cast!

In addition Zack talks at length at completing the latest big thing to hit the gaming world – The Last of us: Part 2. As you’ll hear from him in the podcast, it’s safe to say that the game hits his sweet spot!

If all that wasn’t enough there’s a fair slice of 5DNEWS cake with some chat about the passing of two movie icons; Sir Ian Holm & Joel Schumacher. Also in the news Stuart gets rather exited with the recent Apple IOS 14 announcements…….but Zack doesn’t!

Oh yes, I almost forgot (and you know what) but we also did a reappraisal of Dwayne Johnson’s Skyscraper (not a euphemism) – find out whether watching it again on Netflix changed our minds.
